Is MotoGP's move to BT a good idea?

BT Sport’s successful bid for the live MotoGP TV rights in the UK in 2014 will be confirmed this week, with MCN learning the multi-million pound deal will be formally announced in London tomorrow (Thursday). But with a lot of people not subscribed to BT's tv channels at the minute, there's a lot of apprehension. So we want to know how...

There goes something else the purists in us all enjoy. Taken away and given to a company with little or no viewing figures, no record or prowess or any demonstration or history of providing any fully satisfactory service, least of all to us bike mad eejits. BT has no history of bike watchers, and has not even once demonstrated that they can reach out to us all and gain any clientele who are willing to pay. Just a bunch of money to buy a contract. Boycott the BT Sport service and BT completely and when the "FIVE FECKIN YEARS" are up they'll be glad to be rid of it to any bidder. In the meantime we are a resourceful lot us, so no doubt there are and will be ways to watch it free of charge. Feckin feckwits for feck sake!!! Rant over. MotoGP in UK -- RIP. Oh Yeah, Dorna, Feck Off!

This is against the 2014 TV coverage for MotoGP going to BT and against Eurosport losing its delayed show.

I think it's a bad idea and i'm not going to pay to watch motogp on BT or in fact pay for eurosport either if they lose both the motogp and wsb.

But it throws up a few interesting points, Dorna might try and push Cal on a full works bike to keep the UK audience, but the real issue is the UK is nothing compared to the USA (3 races this year) and then China,Russia and other countries, that must have a greater uptake of people buying and riding new motorbikes.

by not paying for Eurosport for Motogp in 2014 and not switching to BT to watch Motogp in 2014, I get a total saving of £744 per year.

Dorner doesnt give a sh#t

If Dorner doesnt care about the UK audience then we shouldnt support MotoGP. Dorner hasnt got anything to do with BSB so we should all get behind the BSB teams. Boycott the British MotoGP and two fingers to Dorner. It's about time we all stuck together and let the rest of the world know we are not a push over. You can bet your bollocks they wouldnt do this in Spain

It would be interesting

to see the reaction if every single British motorcycle racing fan boycotted Silverstone this year, as Jenno46 suggested......I will.......BSB only for me from now on. And if BBC cover that live every Sunday they may well pull off a major coup in viewing figures!!

Is it definite....

.....that Eurosport hasn't got MotoGP at all? After all, they just show it an hour late now. And, what about Moto2 & 3?
