There's something

That brings out the ignrant c**nt on group rides.

Last one I went on I was a three bike pile up right in front of me and it was purely down to bad riding.

On the other hand....

...

Group rideouts can be the best fun. :winkie:

I think it depends on who you are riding with..obviously the risks are higher with 'strangers' as you don't know anything about their riding abilities...

I have been doing weekly Sunday rideouts for the last 10 years ..and you can't beat being out with mates for the day ...apart from the fun of riding together and sharing an experience it means every break and stop is a social event and a laugh.

But 'each to their own'. :winkie:

Update on the stone in the radiator last Sunday

AA cover (which is included when you buy the Ducati)

Turned up about 6.00pm , wouldn't take bike and rider home, wanted to take bike to local Ducati dealer (local to mishap which is 70 miles from riders home) and rider would have to get a taxi and claim the cost back

Thankfully a mate got home and went back in the race van picked him and bike up and dropped them both home.  Bad mark and thoroughly naffed off Ducati owner :upset:

'If I do go out

Rider at the back nearly always has to go faster than the rest and ideally needs to be one of the most experienced.

(ie - Rider at the front gets held up by traffic lights / caravan etc. everyone else gets held up behind them - no problem ...Rider at the back gets held up - gets left behind and has to ride twice as fast to catch up...:winkie:)

I'm guessing this is the reason? Yes? :winkie:

Group riding

Not been on a proper group ride out for a while now. The last time I went on one I was 2 up and many of the rest were in race leathers with semi track bike and male brevado mode (I didn't know the majority of the other riders). Needles to say one of the bikes came back on a trailer after low siding.

I've been out with others in group rides over to nurburgring and surrounding area and trusted the rest of the riders. There's also a group of friends that used to be members of a TL forum that are reasonable to ride with.

Safe group riding generally depends on the mentality of those you're riding with.
