Wind in helmet

Having bought a flip-up, I'm getting wind gushing around my face! Balaclava no good as the wind is directly in front of the visor. Blocked up all the vents and even taped up the bottom of the visor, but to no avail. Very uncomfortable when cold. so having blocked every entrance where wind can get in ( other than where the flip raises ), just where is this wind coming from? Nearly chocked doing 80 as was so strong. Reverted to my old normal lid where don't get this:mad:

Hi Kev1949

What helmet we talking about?

Have you got a chin guard fitted?

G-Mac

Its a G-Mac Freedom MRD. Far I can tell, no chin guard, as when pushed up, full face exposed. Only part I couldn't block off is the sides where the flip goes up and down and meets the helmet when down, just like a door closing. Can only assume that's where the wind is coming in from?

Chin guard

small apron which is inserted to the front lower edge of the chin curve of the helmet, stops air being blown up into the helmet and creating drafts and noise.

Google Shoei, Arai, and other makes to locate what I am on about.

Thanks

Thanks for that. The wind is probably coming in through the bottom of the helmet? Can put my in hand and touch my nose!! Now I know what to look for, hopefully, make life more comfortable. But why doesn't this happen with my old full face helmet?
