Andrea Dovizioso thrilled with podium challenge

Andrea Dovizioso capitalised on Ducati’s preference for wet conditions to mount a podium challenge until the penultimate lap of a rain-hit French MotoGP race in Le Mans yesterday. The Italian led for eight out of the opening 13 laps after an intense battle with eventual winner Dani Pedrosa and he only lost second position to hard charging British rider Cal Crutchlow...

... but then Dovi isn't making a tit of himself like Rossi on that factory Yamaha - is he?

But doesn't it speak volumes that even when Rossi is having a 'mare and ,by anybody's admission , is obviously coming to the end of his career(a career which is will stand alongside anybody's ,in the history of the sport ,who is going to be talking about Dovizioso in 10 years time?...),that he is still beating Dovi in the championship and was still doing a better job on that Ducati than Dovi is managing this year....

... yeah and in ten years time you'll probably be dead - big deal and a very poor argument unless you're stupid enough to believe in the after-life.

It's now that matters and right now, everyone's talking about Dovi - and laughing very loudly at Rossi .... hahahahaha

Bet that must have made Rossi upset in some ways a Ducati leading something which he never did during his two year miserable spell with the Bologna factory.

The point , you muppet,is that Rossi will have made a mark and will be talked about when people(who genuinely love bike racing) reminisce and discuss the great riders we have all seen and loved watching....How often will old "One win" crop up in any of those chats....sweet fuck all... because he has done sweet fuck all apart from a 125 Championship in 13 years of trying.... Hardly the stuff of legend, well apart from in your "bromanced",Dovi worshipping noggin...

Lose? Hmmmm....But then in your world Dovi getting 4th is better than Rossi's podium, something you pay for is apparently free and having a NVQ in Livestock Worrying is job satisfaction........ Something tells me ive got nothing much to worry about.

Dovi....

....is getting a bit of a rough ride here isn't he?  The boy has done well, and led a race on the Ducati (which we all know works well in the wet).  Granted he didn't stick it on the podium like Rossi had done for thet past two years but he qualified well in the dry and was in contention for a podium through most of yesterdays race, including leading a chunk of it. and I don;t remember Rossi doing that.

Bias aside, what Dovi did at the weekend is an achievement that none of us twats would ever be able to do, and Dovi should be credited for a brave and sensible ride to a solid 4th place.  Credit where it's due.  And fingers crossed the chaps at Audi/Ducati get the bike going just as well in the dry by the end of the season.

Exactly Adie ...

... the reason you don't remember Rossi leading a race on a Ducati is because he didn't - not for even one single lap despite two-years of trying.

On last year's bike, it's taken Dovi just 4 races to achieve what Rossi couldn't even hope to do, and now Rossi's failing to emulate what Dovi did on a Yamaha i.e. getting a podium every third race - despite Rossi having the luxury of riding a factory bike rather than a Tech3 nail with self-financed brakes.

Try explaining that to a dim English troll - good luck.
