Andrea Dovizioso thrilled with podium challenge

Andrea Dovizioso capitalised on Ducati’s preference for wet conditions to mount a podium challenge until the penultimate lap of a rain-hit French MotoGP race in Le Mans yesterday. The Italian led for eight out of the opening 13 laps after an intense battle with eventual winner Dani Pedrosa and he only lost second position to hard charging British rider Cal Crutchlow...

Selective recognition perhaps? Congrats to Dovi for finishing the race in the 1st place but he still hasn't matched Rossi's performance...

So should we mention Vales woeful performance on the Duke compared to others..................................... or would that be bad form bud?

I don't anticipate a reply ;)

Dovi was hampered by a drying surface

Yet still finished only ten seconds behind the winner. Same as the world nr.6 achieved on a fully wet track 2012. He's proving to be at least his predecessors equal is Dovi, or perhaps even more so given the lackluster performance of the world nr.6 on the best bike on the grid.

... yeah, yeah, yeah, CHR - we heard it all last year when you reverted to big-baby mode.

How about you try to remember the last time anyone passed Pedrosa three times in a race?

Or how about you let me know the next time anyone passes Pedrosa three times in a race?

And then try to remember the last time a Ducati passed a Repsol Honda three times during a race?

On second thoughts, forget it - you wouldn't understand WTF I'm talking about would you child?

The conversation always limps along this line of thought much like a zombie: lifeless and mindless and making a jelly of whatever healthy brains were within its reach. Dovi just doesn't thrill in the same way Cal does, you don't thrill in the same way Mario does...that's just a fact of life, no need to wet your knickers about it..

Dovi did well on the day, Lorenzo shit himself, Rossi crashed, Dani pissed off with it and Cal got a right result beating Marquez to the 2nd step.

who cares really, we get to watch it again in a couple of weeks and :

Dovi probably won't do as well on the day,Lorenzo probably won't shit himself, i'd be surprised if Rossi crashes, Dani could possibly piss off with it and i doubt(to my eternal shame) Cal will be on the 2nd step.

it's fascinating and other than knowing the riders it's the spectacle that counts for me.

they give us entertainment, why reduce it from a motorcycle race to a popularity contest with fists on this forum?

Not a bad ride by Dovi, but clearly not in Rossi's league who managed to get the Ducati to second place.
