Valentino Rossi rues blowing podium chance in France

Wouldn't a Rossi fan know all about that, look at the hype when it was announced that Rossi was leaving Ducati and going back to (his beloved) Yamaha.

Banter aside I agree that with 38 races left he should/could win a race but IMO a lot of other factors will need to come into play, I can't see him winning a straight race. That said I'd guess that plenty of non Rossi fans were getting a bit worried when Rossi was lying 3rd with only Dovi and Pedrosa in front and Lorenzo going backward. Ok Rossi binned it but Pedrosa was seriously lucky to stay off the gravel earlier in the race, it could easily have been the other way around.

Rossi doesn't look like the serious contender that many expected including the media but you can blame the hype that on the fact the Stoner didn't exactly get the credit he deserved for what he managed on the Ducati, be honest didn't you expect Rossi to turn the Ducati into a front runner on the basis that if Stoner could be a regular top 5 runner on it Rossi would surely be a race winner?

p.s I don't ride a cruiser but I've done the GP' and TT on the playstation

Nope. Despite my obvious bias, Vale doesn't have 'a snowflakes chance in hell' of winning a race in this company.

This seasons board is a re-run of when Rossi signed for Ducati ie 'if Stoner can win on the thing' etc etc. There were lots of posters initially posting shite until the results failed to materialise.  Vale then signs for Yamaha, lots of posters initially posting the same shite until..............................well, I guess until he wins.

I'll give 'wosi' his due though. He's loyal through and through.

I admit I'm a Rossi 'fanboy', so it's hard to see him not achieving what he would like to, and like we would all like to see achieve. Before this race I commented elsewhere that he was actually in not to bad a place. Fourth in the championship after only three races, and within reach of the top spot. All it would take is a DNF from Marquez (very likely), Pedrosa (likely) or Lorenzo (less likely). But really, Rossi needed to get on the podium in Le Mans or in Mugello before things start running away from him. I jjst rewally hope things come togeher for him in Mugello, otherwise at the end of this year, Vale may be looking to make his move to WSB a bit soner than he would have wish. How much would Aprillia or BMW fight for THAT signature?

Not taking anything away from Cal either. Awesome ride. He clearly deserves a factory ride. I just hope politics don't ghet in the way of him getting the ride he deserves. That said,Cal  on a  Suzuki next year anyone?

he came so fast at that corner. everybody can saw it that it only took not long for rossi to fall. he rode like it was dry race! the weight is important when you race in wet. his ass was overload and made him fell. don't blame the bump pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee............................

Good to see you back Motoking. "Lucky ass chicken champ" always gets me laughing. I watched the race again and couldn't see which bump Rossi was referring to either. Looks like he simply lost the front going in a bit too quickly. He did give it an honest go at least. Can't fault the man for trying. I think he'll be in with a win by season's end, but I doubt the old fella's got another championship left in him, except maybe SBK.

To be fair

If Rossi hadn't crashed wouldn't we all be saying Lorenzo your old past it you Spanish public school gay spartan arse bandit blah blah blah. He did crash but so did Bradley and MM had some lively moments. Better to crash trying than to just wobble around in 7th place.

Best to crash

You get less points for 12th than 7th. Points make prizes, crashing just hurts.
