Cal Crutchlow savours career best second in France

Cal Crutchlow’s fantastic start to the 2013 MotoGP world championship continued in Le Mans yesterday when the British rider stormed to a career best second position. Riding with a badly swollen right knee and a small fracture in his leg after a heavy crash in Saturday’s FP4 session, Crutchlow mastered tricky conditions on a wet and then drying track to finish...

John Hopkins

was in the Le Mans paddock obviously looking for a 2014 ride.   Does anyone think there's a chance of - a) him getting a ride   and - b) him partnering Crutchlow in a 2 man Suzuki team ?

Saturn..

..Hopkins was asked the question ( as I'm sure you saw ) and he reckons it's 50-50 that he'll be back in the paddock. You would imagine it's Suzuki he's been talking too, so a partnership with Crutchlow can't be ruled out. But what about De Puniet, where does that leave him, is he test riding the bike on a future promise?..

British News Support

There was zero mention of either Scott Redding coming first in the Moto2 or Cal Crutchlow coming second in the MotoGP race at Le Mans in the National News. Britain needs to actually get behind their countrymen who are doing well and support them. What's MCN doing about this????????

I would say that lack of track time and his injuries would put Hopper at a disadvantage for a factory ride.  De-Puniet is not exactly setting the world alight although he's kind of doing an 'alright' job in CRT.  Crutchlow would probably be a definite and I would possibly go for Redding as Nr. 2

2 facts

de puniet is a crasher fact, hopper is way past it and out of practice totally imo,if he was lighting up the gsxr like camier in wsbk then fair play but neither deserve more itme in moto gp given the youngster moving up ect.

I would agree with both those facts - but in view of the fact that De-Puniet is testing  it must put him in with a shout.

If nothing else is available for Crutchlow then I'd still put him on it with Redding but then Dorna probably has the last word.   Good to see another factory bike on the grid tho'.

Mmmm, interesting...

..although, would Cal opt for a factory Ducati or the Suzuki if offered?... A factory Yam is no doubt his preferred choice, but will there be a seat for him?..

Factory M1?

Why would he want s Factory M1?

The poster-in-chief on this forum has made the proclamation that the M1 is a crock of shit.

What about this for a 'silly season' thought - Cal to factory M1,  Rossi to Suzuki, and Pol Espargaro to Tech3 ?  Or Rossi to Tech3 and Pol to Suzuki

Brivio managing an Italian led Suzuki effort. Schwantz is a big hero of Rossi..could Hamamatsu be to Val what Cagiva was to Lawson?

Good call Saturn..you're not as dumb as Bulto looks.
