Le Mans MotoGP Dashboard

It was all chance this weekend in Le Mans, with the satellite bike of Cal Crutchlow beating the factories, the Ducatis running at the front, and Jorge Lorenzo slumping to a measly seventh. Here's all the info you need from the weekend at a glance!

Laps Led This Season ...

... anyone remember the last time a Ducati led a race? Back in the Stoner Age? It's the same bike as last year - only the rider has changed. Dovi - the new Alien.

Anyone remember Le Mans last year? A ducati on the podium, similar conditions, similar bike. Different rider though and it performs worse. Dovi - 'the mobile chicane'

Dovi - the 4th Alien ...

... that's right, it wasn't a full wet race this year was it? If it had been, then who knows - probably at least second place on last year's bike.

But enough about last year - that's just history like Rossi. A distant wet weather second place finish doesn't make you some kind of hero.

No, leading races in changing conditions and dicing with Pedrosa on last year's Ducati makes you a hero - and an Alien.

4th Alien?

Close, but no cigar. On the other hand Dovi has done more for Ducati in 2 bloody months than Rossi did for them in two years on the developement genius' alloy bike. He has to be relishing Mugello in anticipation. Dovi reflection and Alien direction.

The bloke was seriously compromised against George/Aprilia in 250. He was surely treated as second fiddle at HRC in terms of Dani/Repsol. His final year within HRC saw him up against Casey. That was always going to be his exit scenario, 'cos he ain't that level of Alien, but he is damn close, like Calvin.

Machinery. Granted. Ducati have no established Alien on board. Given that the Rossi rendition of D16 was generally 1.0 seconds per lap off the pace as a unit on the Bridgestones, Ducati have to only find .5 of a second within his 2012 mess to elevate Dovi to Alien status. Dovi will find the other 0.5 within himself.

And on top of it all,the Ducati 2012 can't even compete with M1's top speed. I think and hope they will adress that issue next weekend.

That of course won't be entirely true because if Ducati close that gap by one half of one second in Mugello it will be heralded as Ducati progression rather than Dovi's application.

Then we have Marc and Dani and George. None of them ever stepped out of their comfort zones. Aliens by smart choices perhaps. Marc is excused from the listing obviously.  Its his first season. Rossi, and Kudo's to him, actually did step out of his comfort zone and try an L-4. The viper proved he ain't no Alien within the #27 league of Aliens.

As for Dovi, maybe he and Hayden are suggesting Ducati  have a look at the CF autoclave's again.

They were winning and podiuming back then, right. Hell. Some long distance calls between former team mates all round may add sum hooligan juice to Mugello.

Oh dear

seems some nerves have been pinched on this forum.... Looking forward to Mugello, if one of the Honda boys get the win there, then im afraid thats probably game over for Lorenzo. Jerez, Le Mans and Mugello have been happy hunting grounds for him in the past. So 2 of them down, Lorenzo must be shitting himself atm, if he hasnt already..
