Mugello MotoGP: Cal Crutchlow fourth in qualifying after crash

British rider Cal Crutchlow will start tomorrow’s Mugello MotoGP race from fourth on the grid after he bounced back from a heavy qualifying crash to just miss out on a second front row start in 2013. Crutchlow fell at Turn 3 after clipping a kerb on the inside while he was unsighted by water in his eyes caused by a hay...

Surprise surprise

Crutchlow ends up on his arse again!!! The stuff legends are made off! I just don't understand why Yamaha don't give him a factory bike!!! Oh I know it's because he pretty much wrecks 2 bikes every weekend and they can't be bothered with the repair bills!!

Yeah....

Yamaha and the sponsors must really hate all the TV time CC gets now.... the good, the bad, the scary and 'kin brilliant antics on that satellite bike.... plus so many interviews too :)) Yeah, why are Yamaha or their sponsors interested in CC??

Haha Truth hurts eh!!! What hurts you the most that you know I'm telling the truth that Cruthlow chucks it down the road every weekend!! Fact!!! Or that Yamaha don't really have faith in him to hand him a factory bike!!! Fact!!!!

is at least hes having a fucking good go at it,on a satellite bike beating most of the works bikes every weekend, you are not going fast enough unless you fall off every now and then.

Totally agree with you on most points there except the now and again bit!! He chucks it down the road every weekend whether that is practise, quali or the race!! I actually agree that he doing a pretty good job, except for the amount of crashes. The main reason I can't stand him is the big mouth that he has and how he clearly thinks he deserves something from Yamaha, when only last season he was slagging them of saying he was going Ducati, only to be passed over in favour of Dovi. Only after that happens does he have to beg for his job back. Bring on 2013 and things are not going his way with getting a factory bike and lone behold he starts slagging Yamaha off again saying how they have made a fool of him. I wouldn't give him a job either. If he could ride as fast as his mouth goes he would win every race by half a lap. I am a massive fan of Lorenzo not just cause of his riding skills but in the way he conducts himself to the world. Crutchlow might want to pay attention he might actually get somewhere.

i know what you mean about his mouth,he does want to keep it zipped a bit more, but it must be bloody frustrating when you are beating a lot of the works riders, and you cant get a works ride,i like cal he as a bit of character, and is the best bet us brits have at the moment.

Yeah I can take your point about it being frustrating but shouting his mouth off is more likely to turn Yamaha against him rather than for him. Trying to hold Yamaha to ransom saying he won't race in the same team as Espagaro if he is on a factory bike in my eyes is a foolish statement to make. He needs to look at the bigger picture. Say for example Pol gets a factory bike and doesn't do that well in 2014 and Cal has another good year on the satellite bike, Rossi then leaves the official team and there is a seat up for grabs. It's a no brainier Cal would get it but only if he keeps it buttoned!! He is still a young guy with lots of time on his side. As I said before he doing a pretty good job and the satellite bike but his results are not great overall and he does fall of a lot. Until he gets a greater level of consistency like Lorenzo for example then he should not just expect a factory bike to fall into his lap. As someone said yesterday 38 races 3 podiums its not fantastic but as I say if he can improve on things like staying on the bike and beating the works riders week in week out and doing it without shouting his mouth of the hell yeah give the boy what he wants!

Yamaha

I'm with Cal and his attitude towards them which is not against Tech3,its against the Factory Yamaha heirarchy. Much like Stoner's days at Ducati. The problem was not within the guys in the boot camp. It was the Del Torchio's(thank God he's fucked off) and the Marlboro bosses. I for one would like to see Ducati do an HRC 2011 next year and run 3 Factory bikes with Cal on one of them. Yamaha, well,Jarvis and Co.Who cares anyway, they have the sports' biggest money spinner(Vale)  and best rider (George) on board so Cal may aswell speak his mind 'cos it won't change a damn thing for him while he's in that camp. And he's no youngster at 28 or so in this game.
