Valentino Rossi reflects on disastrous first lap exit

Valentino Rossi was fortunate to escape injury after the Italian’s hopes of claiming a home podium in Mugello were ended by a disastrous first lap collision with Spaniard Alvaro Bautista. The factory Yamaha rider was trying to gain lost ground after a sluggish start from seventh on the grid when he collided with Bautista’s Gresini Honda RC213V at just the third...

Cursed Conspiracy

Ben Spies has left his curse on that 2nd Yamaha, and Jarvis and Lorenzo after seeing Rossis brilliant forst race of the season are making sure his Yamaha isn't "equal" to Lorenzos.... either way he's screwed! Rossis talent and brilliant Aiustralian crew chief will overcome in the nxt few races and Rossi will be challenging for wins very soon, mark my words.

"....turned to frustration after his hopes of a second podium in 2013 disappeared so early." and thats basically been just that for FLo this year, HOPE. Cant blame anyone else for qualifying that low on a factory yam..

To me it looked as though Vale was running a tad wide and had to 'over correct' for the following right hander and AB was running a tad too fast. Had Vale not have been there then AB would've been fine. Had AB not have been there, Vale would've been fine. Shit happens occasionally.

Real pleased they both walked away unscathed.

Agreed, I'm just glad they walked away. Rossi really needs a win, you can see by his body language that he's lost his confidence. Belief is a strong factor at the top level.

Bautista spoils another Yamaha riders race he did it to Lorenzo at Assen last year know to Rossi in his home race I reckon that could have cost Alvaro his seat with the Gresini team.

No matter

How bad it seems, he must take comfort from knowing he hasn't got to swing his leg over the Ducati in Barcelona. The M1 is getting better for him and the next step is to get his head around going faster in qually. Sounds easy but....
