How much should you get paid for winning the Senior TT?

The Isle of Man TT is possibly the most dangerous motorcycle race on the planet, but do you think the race winners get enough prize money for their efforts? pollcomment

Greatest motorcycle event on the planet

I'm not a fan of Casey Stoner mainly due to his winging and moaning all the time but as he has quit MotoGP wouldn't it be a good idea to set himself a new target to win a TT? I am amazed more big names don't take up the challenge, it isn't that difficult to learn the circuit (just do laps on the TT SUPERBIKES GAME) or the racing line (watch onboard footage once you have learnt the circuit on the PS2 game), It would be great to see Cal, Rossi and Pedrosa there. Maybe not Marquez though as he is too much of a loose cannon at the moment and would certainly crash out which is not advisable there!

Motogp

You can hardly say motogp riders get 'nothing' for winning Endorsements bonuses and a factory ride all amount up to a good few million a year for the top lads (aliens) TY should be 77k to win and riders should get bonuses for multiple wins

If you were a multi millionaire like vr would you consider risking your bollocks by riding at 120% round the most dangerous track? If you crash there it usually ends up in injury or worse.

increase the prize money

and you increase the risks riders are willing to take in order to win.

Just think about that for awhile!

Have you noticed how many T.T. riders are now foreigner's ? . Apart from our cousins from down under , interest from Euro riders is very low . When I was young riders from all over the world entered , I watched a couple of races yesterday on t.v. and  99% were  Brits. Bike racing is massive abroad  and to bring the fans & money in they will need riders from their countries . But no amount of money really equals the skill & bravery involved in the  T.T. and Manx , it has always been about the Glory , of racing and winning there . No other sport pays the peanuts the riders get for  risking life and limb , and  dedication , some of them riding  [sidecars] into their 50s  .

On one side I truly think these guys can't be paid enough but I also like the idea that it is done for purely for the kudos and thrill. If the TT turns in to a money race it will suck all the personality out of it. At the moment you know the guys there are not there for the money, they do it cause they can't help themselves........ long live the TT and its complete disregard for Hippy hand wringers :)

endorsement

The earnings should come from endorsements, etc. Winning a TT is an incredible achievement; and for now no one outside TT fans is even aware. In these days where rowers (rowers!) get knighthoods and TV careers, it's amazing TT winners do not get any kind of recognition*. Raise the profile, not the prize money. (*and when Guy M does make something of his profile, he just gets a load of stick. Honestly, what's the problem?)
