Either the bike isn't good enough or the rule change makes it unfavourable, Both of these things will be true this time next year too. Suzuki need to get on with it or give up entirely as poncing around playing at GP racing hasn't worked so far.

Personally I think they should give up on the GP dream for a bit and go and sort the GSX-R out, make the new thou' a good starting point for a proddie racer and then think about taking some of that flavour to the GP paddock, like Aprilia did.

Hardly surprising. Suzuki haven't shown full commitment to racing at any level for years ( Carnier would be doing a hell of a lot better in SBK on almost any other machine). I wonder how much of this decision was due to the competitiveness of the bike and how much was due to Dorna not rolling out the red carpet for them? The decision that new teams on the grid would have to pay their own way must have stung suzuki quite a bit but given how they conducted themselves before bowing out of Motogp it's hard to blame Dorna, they bent over backwards to keep them in the championship.

It does make some sense because why develop software & ecu for the bike only for a controlled ecu to be introduced.also dorna said that Suzuki would have to but out an existing team & no one wants to sell their slot.so dorna in their ignorance won't make any new places available til 2015 when there will. Be 4 new places available . Why can't they make these available for 2014 is anybody's guess

I agree with you there. Got to think Suzuki will quietly pull the plug on the whole project sometime in the next six months.

Bluehaze- They were going to be offered a slot they just weren't going to have any financial subsudies made available to them e.g. no free tyres, no transport costs

methinks so why bother to enter a bike that's been under development for two years for just one season before having to implememnt something else into the project for the following season.

Dorna need to set up a black and white constitution without any loopholes for the lawyers to get their teeth into and then just leave it alone.

As a lifelong Suzuki fan it is a shame to have to admit that your chosen brand cannot afford to race.

Have to admit with Jamieg that for a number of years the GSXR has been struggling to mix it with the european machines and a thorough overhaul of all models might pull in some funds. Great things have been expected at every new model launch and all that has changed is the paint scheme and some internal parts lightened.

Bear in mind that most UK riders (much though they dont want to be), are at least a stone overweight (being kind), saving an ounce here or there is irrelevant. We want power like the BMW, handling like the Honda, looks of the Ducati and sound & electronics of the Aprilia. Hey, Suzuki may then get a bike in a magazine group test because they dont at the moment, the gap between the 1000 and the rest is quantum.

Over the years, Suzuki have raced in MotoGP under the proviso that all of the efforts will flow down into the street bikes. Well I didn't see it so unless they are going to do this, quit and save money.

If Dorna want the large Jap factories back then they should be offering sensible choices to do so but in return demanding a watertight commitment. Holding grudges, making partisan rules and actively supporting Spanish interests does not help.

Hell and high water again. With, on one side we have: HRC selling/leasing bikes and Yamaha selling/leasing engines. Fine, all clear. On the other hand, we have political crap with Suzuki being told they have to work with existing teams or buy a grid slot. I could see Suzuki bowing to that. What's next? Tell Suzuki to build a frame and buy in a Yamaha engine or, maybe, Suzuki are to run a HRC bike in blue? What are Dorna up to? You can't make a Japanese company jump through hoops, they will just walk away as honour does not allow them to concede.

Suzuki : No MotoGP (after a poor showing in their last campaign), Invisible at WSB, Off pace on the road racing circuit, just about surviving in WSB ... Suzuki make great road bikes but racing is just an expensive hole to plug and who can blame them. Kawasaki on the other hand in both lightweight, 600 and BSB / WSB are kicking tangiable ass but abandoned MotoGP in 2009 after an ill fated fling with the 800cc class... The 'Blue Riband' class is just going nowhere at the moment if the major bike manufacturers aren't even part of it ...
