Nicky Hayden unlikely to switch to new Ducati in Assen

American Nicky Hayden reckons he is unlikely to begin racing Ducati’s new ‘lab’ bike in Assen next weekend because it is no better than his current factory GP13 Desmosedici. Ducati has invested vast human and financial resources into the new ‘lab’ bike, which features revised weight distribution and a chassis with different stiffness. It was hoped the new bike would help solve...

Two things.

The article has a headline about Hayden but a picture of Dovi's bike and number.  Dovi is mentioned in the article (in fairness) but shouldn't the picture be of Hayden's bike for consistency.  Also - Dovi finished the test 2nd fastest.  There were only two of them testing so isn't that the same as 'slowest?'.  Nothing against Dovi, it's just the wording is painted.

Poor buggers, it's a good job they are being paid millions to do this job.  Despondency over fun?  Not sure.  Would be nice to see Dovi put that on the podium at some point this year... but it's an uphill battle and the competition is relentless in it's quest for victory.   Keep at it both. Top riders on a beleaguering bike isn't helping the smile stakes.

Ducati..Go home.

Bottom of the pile in GP & Superbike..time to call it a day and concentrate on making designer road bikes for fat old born-again part-timers with an indentity crisis.

Marlboro have always had a winning outlook in racing and their brand is suffering by association.

I've stopped chuffing 'lites' and am on the fkin roll-ups..far more credibility.

Dump the Bologna Bozo's and get back to winning with Yamaha I say.

Ducati

Advice to Ducati Managment: just get back Casey to ride this terrible bike and you'll have  the next win for Ducati after many dry ( mean unsuccesful) years......................

There were 19 at the test... Hayden was 2nd fastest after JL... Dovi was 4th fastest... & VR was slower than the 2 factory Ducati's yet again....

It's not really new is it?

More a collection of existing parts, from the large pile, bolted together in the hope that they'll work if they're set free. Or is it if they work they'll be set free? Anyway, the only things Ducati don't appear to have tried are a carbon beam frame, a carbon trellis, or an old skool Gixxer steel perimeter (maybe done in carbon?) They might as well see if an inline 4 works in there somewhere.

A joke and waste of money

Ducati needs to steal some engineers from the competition and stop trying to rely on home grown talent which obviously isn't getting it done.
