Just wanted to say

that bikers do stop and help. Last night I had a late night out riding and managed to lose the rest of the rideout (par for the course for me) so there I am, sitting at a set of lights wondering which way to go, and a fully loaded up VStrom pulls up alongside me and the rider nods, so I lift up my visor and ask the way and he just says "Follow me". so I do and he takes me just where I want to go and then sails off into the dark again with a wave. Corny, maybe, but what a nice man.

Cheer up, beaconsman. The good guys are still out there.

Sorry, preunit. here's your thread back. I don't think I've damaged it too much :smile

I know where you're coming from. As I'm also ex forces with 22 years service and I know you are we are not so used to the shitty side of human behaviours. We were used to being able to trust comrades 100% wether we liked them or not because if we didn't someone could be injured or worse. It comes as a kind of shock when you find out that civvie street isn't quite like that, it's not that we didn't know it's more like a shocker when someone craps on you and you can't take retribution or fight back in a manner you would have in the forces, bullying did happen in the RAF Regiment and it was stamped on pretty quick either physically or verbally.

I've met  real decent people via this forum both in Britain and Spain, I back off it now and then but it's still a good medium for keeping in touch.

I don't like some of the stuff I see on here so I avoid it, there's no point in getting into a keyboard battle with someone who has an 'axe to grind' for some obscure reason.
