Valentino Rossi boosted by braking breakthrough

Valentino Rossi hailed his successful Motorland Aragon test appearance as one of his best days since returning to Yamaha, despite finishing almost a second slower than factory YZR-M1 teammate Jorge Lorenzo. The Italian was all smiles and full of optimism heading to the next race in Assen after he set a personal best time of 1.49.007 that put him fourth behind...

Yep I agree Trolling = Yawn.
There are only the ‘crazy’ fans of Rossi that can’t admit that Vale’s best performances ‘glory days’ are largely in the past. No sports star has ever had everlasting unrivalled success – not humanly possible. There will be chances still for him but he’s only human.
But hey just imagine this forum without the trolls…….. If the ever present armchair experts and usual suspects weren’t all waffling on with their yellow this and that, Yamaha nr2, world nr6, umpalumpa flossi, JB’s 80 second fix sentence, all races are fixed by Dorna since ’88, good riders are blocked from Motogp so Rossi wins  blah blah blah;  but there again  what on earth would the trolls do? They’d probably have to get a real life.  And we’d then be left with balance views by actual bikers discussing all things motorbike instead of the moronic juvenile ‘my riders better than yours’ and still drudging up the monotonous daily waffle about things from 2007. Well where would be the fun in that?!
Dreadful affliction is jealousy.  I’m sure they wish they were good enough at anything to be awarded 9 world championships…..or even 6th best in the world at anything for that matter.

I can sense the tension in all the Rossi haters comments. They are putting a negative slant on this story because they are shitting themselves that Rossi just might of got the M1 sorted (or a large way towards it) and then the rest of the season will be a nightmare for them.

One or two of the riders haven't had the opportunity to perfect their bike over the last few years, so they were working on set up when most of the other riders were putting soft tyres in and going for a fast laps. Ala FP1.... Big round of applause to all those that suggested you can go faster in the rain on a hard tyre.... I wait with baited breath for your next nugget..

I fear Hugelean

that your sensible words fall on deaf ears as far as Rossi-Haters are concerned - they have their own negative agenda!  Keep the faith pal it may be rewarded.

Im going to the Qualifying on Friday at Assen. Can't wait to see MM scrape his elbows on the tarmac at the Stekkenwal corner. And by the way, watching a sidecar race with 4 strokes. I know thats going on for years now, but never seen a 4 stroke sidecar race. On topic, Rossi is Damn good around Assen, he came from way back to win against Casey on that special M1 with the Fiat 500 livery. Good motorcycle weekend with the race at Assen on Saturday and Hoppefully a not too embarrasing wild card ride from Nori on the Beemer at Imola on Sunday on the telly. Valentino really needs a good qualifying 4th at the least.

Carlos

Have a good weekend - I can remember sidecar racing before the two strokes that was in the days when Grand Prix consisted of  50cc,  125cc,  250cc, 350cc, 500cc and sidecars.   Six classes of racing in one day - now that was value for money.   Don't forget to report back on your Assen trip.

Thanx Saturn! Sidecars used to be great here in Holland, with Egbert Streuer on that Lucky Strike sidecar. My first memories of Assen was Carlos Lavado. Back then you could meet the riders. And that dude from Venezuela was about the coolest bike racer you could meet. Good days, but not always safe. They ran free practice with all classes at the same time sometimes wich was jus't scarry. I will try and see who looks smooth through Stekkenwal corner on friday night, but sometimes i've told my mates. Damn this rider looks fast in this corner! But they post a slow lap? It's hard to see but i wil post it come Friday.

EL'D...

"@ Hedgi, you used to talk seriously, now you lost your class..."

Ok... he's at a circuit he's never been good at... he's always been at least a second off the pace here but worse on the Ducati... that means if he's not as good as he should be he'd be more than a second off the pace... he's where he was last time he rode the Yamaha here, back when he could win races!... that's good news for Rossi fans... hence the Promising title to my post...

In suggesting that Rossi hasn't lost it you say I've lost my class & Huglean says it's mindless raving... maybe you're right.
