Alvaro Bautista explains Catalunya near miss with Valentino Rossi

Alvaro Bautista has defended himself against fierce criticism from Valentino Rossi after the pair came close to being involved in a controversial first lap collision for the second race in succession in Catalunya last Sunday. Gresini Honda rider Bautista crashed on the opening lap of his home race while attempting to pass Rossi’s factory Yamaha YZR-M1 for fifth position. But he lost...

Foggy..put some paragraphs in.

I refuse to read it as it is because I don't want a headache..shame, because I reckon that must be the longest comment you've ever posted..and the law of averages says there must be SOMETHING in there worth digesting.

The only malevolence surrounding Marco's moves, was the response from twitching arsed fanboys of Pedrosa like yourself, who reckon they know a thing or two about racing.

You should be ashamed of yourselves. Some of us will never forget the witch hunt the pussie club went on.

Your witch hunt Wosi

Pedro's very clearly badly spited face, and no end of riders used as berms by Simoncelli - Bautista, Aoyama, Pasini....

Sioncelli was a diamond in the rough. The emphasis being very much on the 'rough'. Never polished and only shone fleetingly in the big bike class.

You show me a racer that hasn't made a mistake and I'll show you a rider who hasn't raced.

It's not ballroom dancing..as the saying goes.

But Wosi

It's you boy Rossi doing the moaning here about racing mistakes. I revert to my original comment 'a degree of malevolence' for Simoncelli's numerous 'incidents'. There's a clear distinction - too subtle for you I know.

WOULDNT CUT IT IN bsb

The way Bautista has been riding he wouldnt even cut it in BSB. He has always been irratic and even on the suzuki he was poor. In MOTOGP other riders are warey  of his riding and if you look. Rossi  knew Bautista was about to crash and gave him room to do it. Then you look at Marquez who potentialy is dangerous their is no comparison because Marquez is bloody quick and this is his 1st year and because of his skill he can very often aviod a crash. The sooner Bautista is sacked the better. then perhaps a decent rider like Scott Redding can get the ride

Worth re-posting

Red mist..

You can't blame a racer for trying but in Alvaro's case, the evidence against him having the intelligence to understand the old adage of "You can't win a race in the first lap..." is questionable.

All eyes will be on him next week at Assen, on the anniversary of his awful lunge at Lorenzo.

He couldn't have heaped more pressure on himself if he'd tried and it will be a test of character.

Gresini have been here before. I kind of like Bautista's natural happy demeanour and hope the paddock doesn't start ganging up on him like they did Simoncelli, wiping the smile from his face permanently.

What's done is done..let's hope the kid can pass this test and move on.

Well said 'wosi'.

There's always going to be 'one' on any grid, in any class, in any form of motorsport. In this instance it's AB. I'm sure he has no intention of making the headlines for the wrong reasons and maybe he'll never change, who knows? He's not the first, or the worst, and he'll certainly not be the last. Despite him only ruining HIS OWN RACE in this instance the knives are out again! Go figure.
