Ducati confident Ben Spies can return in Laguna or Indianapolis

Ducati is hoping injured Texan Ben Spies can be fit enough to return to MotoGP action on home soil in Laguna Seca or Indianapolis. The 2009 World Superbike champion believes the California clash on July 21 might be too soon to return from a serious right shoulder injury he sustained in a rain-hit Sepang race last October. Spies is undertaking an intensive...

WSBK I agree could be next his next stop this is what he should have done when Spies announced he is quitting Yamaha when BMW offered him a ride. I think any team in that class would welcome him with open arms given what he achieved there in his first attempt.

The Spies Bad luck myth

Lets put that one to bed shall we? He finished the first NINE!!!!!! races of last year and was fucking shit!!!! nothing to do with a poor bike ,bad luck. Over rated and shown that he wasnt good enough for compete with the Aliens. Never mind the injured shoulder, his head is fucked as he knows his true worth at this level.

If you mean , did he crash his bike in pactice and qualifying so hard, his bike suffered a stress fracture in the race then yes. Did he fail miserably in the first five races of 2012 then yes too. Face facts, Spies isnt the rider USA where hoping for, and only keeps a good ride to put blinker American arses on Ducati seats. \marketing over talent

WWB you're right actually Ducati being confident but is the rider IMO I think not it would be bad news if he had to sit out the whole season.

going off on a tangent, if Spies does exit the series at the end of the year, that (presumably) leaves Hayden and Edwards (who will be 32 and 40 respectively in 2014) as the only American riders in the entire GP paddock (around 100 riders).  has the USA fallen out of love with bike racing?  even the most successful American riders in AMA are well into their twighlight years, and the championship is currently led by a Columbian.

does this mean that Josh Herrin, Danny Eslick and Chris Fillmore are the future (i know, who the hell are they!).

but it gets worse than that - there are no Americans currently in WSBK, WSSK and WSS (that's another 108 riders).  surely 315 million people can do better than this!
