Staff blog: I've got to stay up - someone on the internet doesn't like the Burgman

Every time I write a blog on the Burgman, I seem to become embroiled in debate with critics of the scooter.   I don’t know why I feel the need to convince others to like it. It reminds me of that joke about internet arguments, where a wife asks her husband if he’s coming to bed and he says: “No. Someone...

Scooter Joke

Riding a scooter is like shagging a fat bird, bloody good fun, but you wouldn't want your mates finding out!

Mrs Borg quite often abandones me to my correction of the internet

Can we post images here?  Let's see.

OK, if I ever make space in the garage, I'll try and pick up something like a Burgervan 400 or a SH300 (presumably pronounced "Shee-oo") and dip my toe in the midiscoot market.  I'll need to work on my Travolta "Cadillac of Minivans" speech, mind.

STEVE

Always thought electric screens should have a flexible piece to fill those gaps and why doesn't MCN have an arrangement with a decent tyre fitter?

That'll be..... Me Then!

Until you reported the many virtues of this amazing machine...."Faster" than a S1000rr and The "Great" Busa......I thought they were "Poofta Cack".....how wrong was I ? So off I went to the local dealer and asked them all about the Burgman...Only £9000 otr....(including electric folding mirrors....) really I said that's excellent value when compared to a £11000 Busa. Can I get a test ride please?........Stunned silence followed, then blank expressions and giggles ensued....."are you Serious"? They said hmmmmmm ........I haven't slept since, either.

Sorry

But I would put the Burgman behind the TMAX, Silverwing, and C600 Sport - all have better suspension and almost as good accommodations.

Give it up Steve

For £9k you're not going to convince many. If Snev's recent experience is anything to go by neither are the people selling them. Scooters are great at doing what they were made for... Short, swift journeys through traffic infested built up areas for small amounts of money with comfort and convenience thrown In.These overgrown, overpriced bloaters are out of their comfort zone and way beyond what they need to do. Test some smaller ones and promote the true virtues of scooters. Rogerborg, try a Piaggio Beverly 350ST and brush up on that speech.

When you're riding Beverly, you just twist and go?

I see it comes in both "lipstick" and "eyeshadow" colours too.
