Assen MotoGP: Espargaro battles with Redding to take win

Spaniard Pol Espargaro battled hard to take victory in the Moto2 race at Assen today ahead of championship leader Scott Redding. With five laps remaining Redding took to the lead and looked strong enough to keep Espargaro at bay, but Espargaro overtook the Marc VDS rider on at the first corner on the final lap. Great battle between Pol and Redding. Fair play to Pol he won fair and square. Redding seems to be the consistency kid at the moment and thats how championships are won. Two really evenly matched riders and a joy to watch. On another day or another track it'll be Reddings win. Hoping for a tight championship between these two.

Awesome display

by them both, amazing controlled aggression which made the rest of the field look a little average in comparison. Big congrats to them, on this day the better man (just) won, but a race to be proud of for Pol and Scotty.

Advantage Spain

Espargaro's extra power plus his lighter weight  were the only things that gave him that win, Scott was much faster through the twists but lost out on the straighter sections! Redding is a much richer talent and he deserves the step up to Moto GP before Pogo IMO, his size will be much less of a disadvantage there, what a talent!!!! Well done Scotty!!!!

Good ride from Scott today, lost out on the fast sections as usual. Pity they don't go to Laguna as I would love to see the Moto3 and Moto2 boys scrapping it out around there.

from Scott, points in the bag, that's what wins championships, hope he gets a good MotoGP offer for next season, but stay away from the Duke's Scott.
