Imola WSB: Sykes does the double

Motocard Kawasaki rider Tom Sykes rode a faultless race to take the double win at Imola and come away with the champonship lead. Sykes got a great start and led from the first corner, with Davide Giugliano in tow until the Aprilia rider crashed out on lap three. Pata Honda rider Jonathan Rea capitalised on his good qualifying to finish second. Factory Aprilia...

Nice one Tom

Another fine performance from Mr Sykes, he's already starting to match the likes of Doug Polen and that's no small achievement. He's looking more like a World Champion every time he rides the bike.

Tom Sykes, Take A Bow Son!

Stunning ride Tom, man and machine working in perfect harmony and how much is he making that Kawasaki scream! Go win the championship son then stay and defend it next year, really hope he doesn't end up on a CRT, proddy Honda or weird framed yam fighting for 8th or 9th in moto gp, he's better where he is writing his name into wsb folklaw!

Really happy with this result. Tom deserves the title after missing out last year on jus't half a point.

The most impressive

part of Tom's game is his ability to ride from the front, totally unflustered and regardless of any pressure from anyone... and just do lap after lap after lap... at the same fast pace... metronomic style. Big congrats to Tom, a character, a gentleman (off the track) and 'kin fast super-bike rider... Paul Bird gets some things right after all then, so thanks Paul.

Lightening Sykes twice

class act Tom, class act

WSBK is looking very poor though, definetly needs a review and kick up the jacksy to make it feel as strong as it did a few years ago...

Two

Great rides from Tom. Great superpole lap as well. Now leads the standings. Can't get better than that! But I'm sure Benny the twat will have something negative to say about Tom. Or is that why he has not been on this thread because there is nothing to be negative about

If he can

Ride out front like that, metronomic, even better reason to get him on a moto GP bike. WSBK is dire rubbish, has been for a few years. Less than 20 bikes on the grid past 2 years and now we have the likes of Carlos Checa finishing barely in the points and a come back ride from poor Nori Haga finishing in the points both races...... oh wait..... that was last. Did you read that! Nori Haga finishing LAST! ASSEN GP rocked.... and Supers sucked? Can't blame it on Dorna yet boys. Sykes was great but I only wasted 3 hours watching the Flammini Flop world ducati superbike championship to look at the scenery around the legendary Imola circuit comparing how different the computer controlled bikes with their hi tech rubber were compared to the days when 500 two strokes assaulted the beautiful but demanding Imola circuit. If they didn't mention it they certainly didn't show James Haydon's leg smashing high side from a 500 GP bike at Imola. Scary stuff.... Dorna needs to sort out SBK and fast, better to tune into the SSTK 1000 race and forget the rest. Oh yeah.... that is pretty predictable too?????????????????????????

But wheelie

As long as we've Brits riding well in it I'm defiantly still gona watch, and remember not every round of Moto gp is brilliant racing, being a long time since we saw a race like Monza in Moto gp, if Tom gets a LCR or gresini Honda which ain't gona happen or cals tech 3 yam if he moves then maybe but still going to struggle to win, he'd do better on his ninja than out else in that field, Kawasaki will look after him n if they ever make the move bck to gp sure toms name will be top of list, otherwise stick at it Tom and win us Brits some good silverware!

Kawasaki's future

If this year Sykes with his team will win in WSBK then it's very probably that Kawasaki will turn their eyes again on MotoGP:) It would then be funny if they could do it earlier than Suzuki's back;)

Anyway I'm behind Sykes and Kawasaki since the duo (rider+bike) had started to work.

20 years after '93 Scott Russell. May be interesting yera for them.
