Got up early this morning took the scenic route to Bala, over to Dolgellau up to Porthmadog to Bangor, Betws-y-Coed and back to the hotel.....It rained all the way....:mad::mad: .... Guess what...? it's sunny now...might go back to the Ponderosa for a chip Buttie.:biggrin:

A483 is good from newtown to Llandod, bloody awful to Builth the other way..hate it..roll on Newtown Bypass..;)


A470 is good to Llandovery from Abergavenny through Sennybridge/Trecastle etc..(I too am local)!

I did that road, on advice from diablere.... During my trip home...it was very good apart from the awful shellgrip on some of the tightest bends. I also liked the B4391 from Bala to Pennybontfawr.

have to admit it was a bit dull from Newtown to Oswestry though. very straight! shame really as it would have linked up with the north wales roads nicely!

usually i crank across to Craven arms from Newtown a lot more interesting:biggrin:
