Shane Byrne not ruling out MotoGP switch in 2014

Triple British Superbike champion Shane Byrne is refusing to rule out a shock return to MotoGP in 2014. The 36-year-old, who last raced in the premier class back in 2005, was strongly linked with a return to MotoGP for this season when he had the chance to move to Paul Bird’s squad. Byrne rejected the chance to ride the new British-built PBM...

Shakey

Why would Byrne "rule out" Motogp?, nothing left to prove in BSB , things  to prove in WSBK ? Rossi is still a fair bit younger than Byrne who probably wont end up with a factory bike , but if he wants to see the world again and have a go on something else why not WSBK , where he surely would be in with a shout at a few wins?

Good Rider

And an all round nice bloke ,but other than retaining his affiliation with the jail Bird and it being of financial benefit to them both I can see no real benefit to his racing career,He wont be at the pointed end nor will he be scooped up by tech 3 or a factory the following year,However if its something he wants to do or will just enjoy then who can deny him that pleasure,He as others have said nothing to prove in BSB he could still cut it in wsbk as a title challenger but that series is currently as dull as ditchwater so its his own personal choice, good luck to him whatever he does personally I would still like to see him being competitive in any class he is in and if possible away from his current employer

Shake up Shakey ...

Taffy, why would Shakey choose to have a second bite at a GP career which proved a step too far for him even when still relatively young?  KTM still spit at the mention of his name.

And then of course you return to that which you know best, "dyed in the wool" --Baaah

Pension Fund!

Think if he goes and on a CRT he hasn't a hope in hell of a win or a podium, so I would assume he would be going purely for the money....maybe before he retires! Personally  I would prefer winning in BSB than running about at the back of a MOTO GP pack!
