Honda power for Colin Edwards in 2014?

Colin Edwards could be poised to renew his association with Honda in 2014. The veteran Texan hasn’t ridden a Honda since he rode for Fausto Gresini’s MotoGP squad in 2004 and his previous association with the Japanese factory was when he famously won a second World Superbike title in a dramatic final round shootout with Troy Bayliss at Imola in 2002. Look, an RG-500 may have been closer to the money than a satellite bike this day and age, but the customer numbers were always a little down on power than the full factory jobs. The saving grace back then was that smart tuners were able to get closer to the factories than the guys these days. It's an uphill battle and a big ask, to expect customers to get anywhere near the factory guys this day and age. The 2014 customer Honda will be far enough from the factory mob, that they'll cop a hiding to nowhere. This isn't the seventies or early eighties any  more. If you aren't on factory kit, you're just an also-ran. Edwards was screwed back at the end of 2002 when they chose Hayden over him. Like he said, "I must have been sucking the wrong dick all these years."

You would have to say Colin has being played about in MotoGP Honda chose Hayden over him and Yamaha were about to do the same as well dump Edwards for the other American but NH turned down the offer to stay at HRC at the time.
