OUT TODAY - Running with the R1's

Some of the Scottie Crew were heading up to Applecross for the weekend ....with sunshine this morning Sky and I decided at the last minute to jump in and do the first leg of the run north with them.....

First surprise when we turned up was to find not one but two brand new R1's ...Gordon had traded his R1 in for a new one and Stuart had done likewise trading in his Repsol Blade.....so here are the 'Terrible Twins'..

New 'running lights' this year ...

Of course they are not 'identical' twins...Stuart has only had his a couple of days and is standard...but Gordons has aftermarket cans, levers, double bubble screen, tail tidy etc..taken from his previous R1.

Good to see you both yesterday. I like your pics, they're a reminder of what a nice start we had to the day, before it turned to this!

Soggy gear

hanging up in the hut :upset:

But later at night the sun came out in the west and we woke to a lovely morning - just a shame our clothes were still wet!

Ah the memories (That's MEMORIES folks before you start!).

Once I managed to find the spare keys to the garage (See its a Disaster post), I managed to get a "quick" 150 odd miles in, also on some good roads in Wales.

Biggest bug bear is the councils have been repairing the roads by throwing gravel everywhere. Three of four long stretches of 10 and 20mph sections due to skid risk. One on a steep, twisty hill down into Newtown.

Only nasty incident was I went passed a downed biker, ambulance was already with him and his friends (or so I assume) were doing traffic control on the A438 Newtown to Crossgates.
