No I don't think it is correct to go off track to pass which is what Marquez ultimately did. However, it hardly looked like a practised move, he tried to go around the outside, Rossi was running wide himself, they both went off track. Had Rossi stayed on track I'd say he should have been given the place back but they were both off it.

It wasn't the same as Rossi's move in 2008. Marquez hadn't lost control, he was just forced wide and had nowhere else to go. In 2008 Rossi went in too hot and couldn't make the corner. He ran off track himself, no-one forced him off and he gained a place from it.

I didn't notice anyone complaining then...
