MotoGP Laguna Seca: Marquez secures audacious victory

With three, unfamiliar Hondas on the front row at Laguna Seca, it took superb reactions from the lights by Rossi to separate them with a blistering start.  Stefan Bradl, showing no sign of rookie, pole-sitter nerves however was equal to it, and maintained his qualifying position for the opening half of the race. With four laps gone, Honda’s young marvel, Marc...

Drying paint...

A totally p### poor race but an awesome move from Marquez on Rossi, worth sitting through the rest of it just for that. Looking like Marquez is going to really take some stopping now and if Pedrosa cannot win it this year then I am afraid he never will.  Worst race of the year from Cal as well but I am sure he is going to be strong for the rest of the season and I still fancy him to get 4th overall by the season end. Roll on Indy....

Nice reaction

from Vale in parc ferme over the move by Marquez at the corkscrew. So different to the reaction 5 years earlier.

NO..No..Marky Marc cut the corner!

yeah brilliant race

For Marquez. The guy is just unbelievable and what a great pass on Rossi (ahem) but all taken in good fun from probably two of the best riders ever!

Great to see Bradl take his first podium and good to see Jorge and Dani finish safely.
What happened to Cal this weekend?
Good for Hayden too!

Being a man..

Sometimes you just have to hold your hand up and say you got beaten by a better man..rather than cry like a baby and lose face forever.

Most Aussies don't understand this concept because they're girlies.

Not being a killjoy

But that was a blatant off track over take but he got away with it because Rossi took the same line and had the same advantage. It's all in the fim rule book

perhaps my eysight is deteriorating

wosi but MM looked like he was in complete control of his bike,  re-entered the track several bike lengths ahead of Rossi, didn't go anywhere near torpedoing him, and was going to pass him somewhere else if not there. Even if MM apart from being really good didn't have a Dorna get out of jail free card Rossi  was basically trying the same thing anyway as has also been said.

Interesting title race now, because Dani should be fine after the break in the racing which will heal the break in his clavicle, but MM may be too far ahead (and too good) now. Heroic effort by Jorge given what was wrong with him, but with the run of Honda tracks coming up, how far behind he is, and how good MM is his chances are not looking all that good.

overtake

at the corkscrew was fine who cares if he cut the corner slightly MM would of eventually have passed Rossi in any case, clearly the Hondas had the edge over the Yamahas - mighty Cal beaten by 2 satelite Hondas is not going to make him a happy CAMPer.
