Exclusive: Casey Stoner to test factory Honda in Japan

Double world champion Casey Stoner will make a dramatic return to MotoGP action next month when he tests a factory Honda RC213V at the Twin Ring Motegi track in Japan, MCN can reveal. The outspoken but blindingly fast Australian, who retired from MotoGP immediately after the final race of 2012 in Valencia last November, will take part in a two-day test...

Er, he has bills to pay and a family to provide for, yes? If I had his talents, I would keep as many options open as I could, it makes sense. IF he chose to come back, it might wake the other riders up a little. Let's face it, a bit of tension produces the best performances from all on the grid. By the way, thought Marquez rode his wossnames off at Laguna Seca, how interesting would it be to have him and Stoner as team mates? Just a thought.

Stoner wouldn't be missed? Hahaha...

Fuck me, this is the fullest I've seen the comment section in a looonng time.

He's going for a spin to show the true potential of a bike out of the box and you're all horned up like you had Viagra sugar sprinkled on your Vita Brits for brekky!

What dumb pillocks like you lot don't understand is that the more he 'rides around issues', the more it is a true indication of the bikes raw potential. If he can do it with TC turned down and some base settings on older suspension, then the wonder boys of today should be able to match him with the latest gizmo's and settings laid at their feet... shouldn't they?

Well Flo couldn't but his current performance isn't exactly that of a 'contender' is it.

COMPETITION IS HIGH

it shows rossi's true skill when he can't do thug racer and shit politics behind race anymore. he has no excuse and DORNA has no moves anymore to support rossi. he already in Yamaha! it all down to him. and now we see clearly how his skill is.

thank you for the revelation. rossi only ordinary rider with clown skill entertainment plus hypocrite shit. beaten by bradl and fight with the likes of bautista. yes, we enlighten by this show. LOL.

As is Rossi, but stoner did it without smiling so much, just like a bad guy out of a movie,he's affected this forum I'd say on par with Rossi but only since the Ducati failure for 2 years(yes it was a failure compared to caseys 08,09,10,seasons) on a very similar desmo and tyres, but anyways find it funny to see how Much interest this guy gets just by walking out his home.hrc throwing money his way even when mm is so good???? And benny baaaa, oh dear.

Hmmm...

"It's been almost 7 months now since Valencia and I'm still happy and comfortable with the decision I made to stop racing,"

"Sometimes I miss riding my RCV, so I am happy that HRC asked me to do some tests in Motegi this year. This will allow me to enjoy what I miss: riding a MotoGP bike! ''

Seem to recall Bayliss doing some tests for Ducati about a year after he retired, he unsurprisingly set very fast lap times then after the rumour mill had kicked off cleared off back home! Stoner's comments don't exactly sound like those from a man desperate to make a full time return to the sport to me.

Honda's request...

Stoner - "I am happy that HRC asked me to do some tests in Motegi this year."

Honda - "We will also ask him to test the new production racer and give us his initial feedback to assist us in producing the best machine possible"

So it is at Honda's request that Stoner is there... no cap-in-hand "can I come back please" requests as mooted earlier &

"I'm still happy and comfortable with the decision I made to stop racing"

... so no return for now.

Stoner won at Motegi on the 2010 Ducati, generally agreed to be one of the worst factory bikes on the grid, as Valentino found out only a few weeks later. Other than that it's not been one of his favourite circuits. He knows how to ride crap bikes but he is also extremely vocal about their shortcomings... it's why some idiots called him the moaner before every press release from their hero followed the same theme... hopefully Honda will listen to him rather than just look at the timing sheets.

Special Discount..

In anticipation of a Casey comeback, wosi's secured several pallets of jumbo boxed, triple-ply tissues especially for aimless #27ers..

Bound to end in tears..Buy one, get one free.

Wosi...

Something tells me you have a far more frequent use for tissues & it isn't for tears... you'd love to see Stoner back in MotoGP, if only to perpetuate your inane "best bike if he wins, crap rider if he loses" diatribe... never mind, maybe next time.
