Exclusive: Casey Stoner to test factory Honda in Japan

Double world champion Casey Stoner will make a dramatic return to MotoGP action next month when he tests a factory Honda RC213V at the Twin Ring Motegi track in Japan, MCN can reveal. The outspoken but blindingly fast Australian, who retired from MotoGP immediately after the final race of 2012 in Valencia last November, will take part in a two-day test...

Casey's doing nothing more than taking a job and getting paid handsomely for it, all of us would do a job we hate for the money Casey's being paid. Wouldn't you even though you think it's a golden opporunity? Casey's been there and didn't like it even though he's very good at it. That's life, some people make it, some don't, if any of us were that good at racing a MotoGP bike we'd be doing it. We're not and Casey is, i'm glad for him.

El Dire

Your obsession on comparing Stoner's 2 championships with the best bikes by far on every year is ridiculous.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your obsession of ignoring the fact that Casey was the most successful rider between 2007-2011, the majority of the time on the worst bike, is far more ridiculous.

Only in your book pacey.. Quite frankly using the race wins from 2007 and 2011 and then spreading them around the other four seasons to make it look like he dominated anything other than two seasons, is amateur hour at best. Ask Casey Jorge and Dani what it is like to win a race, hell maybe 5, then ask them what it is like to achieve the holy grail of motogp 'back to back' titles. They simply don't know the answer. Just the old guy who'd already won 7 titles before they turned up, then came from way behind and apparently finished to hammer them all and keep them hammered. In an era where bike supremacy was yoo yooing like a whores purse.. Ask Mick doohan if he'd swap 10, hell 20, even 50 wins for two back to back titles??, only casey stoner and a handful of loyal fans would take the wins the rest of the world would have the kind of dominance that only exists with consecutive titles..If Casey did back to back titles you would be creaming yourself..

If you ask either Rossi or Stoner

They will say its about winning races or "the taste of the victory" standing on the top step of the podium is what matters to them. In Stoner's case he was unhappy after clinching the 2007 title because he'd just come 6th. Back to back championships is just some bullshit yardstick you made up. Ask Rossi or Doohan what it's like to win the premier class on an Italian bike, they have no idea either. Btw if you think motogp inspires the soul you really need to get out more.

It has limited marketing value

The actual list of real potential customers will be very small and the realists amongst them will realise that the performance of the proddie RCV is what the bike is capable of with Casey Stoner on it at Honda's track that the bike was designed, in part, to go around well. It'll give little indication of how well it'll go around Assen in the rain for example or with Scott Redding onboard it.

The testing of the '14 MSMA/prototype RCV is a multi-faceted affair, primarily it's a gauge of both bikes and rider, if HRC really want him back then they'll have built a factory RCV that they think he'll like and the rest will be up to Stoner. Stoner is still the benchmark as far as HRC are concerned and both The Admiral and Marquez are not dissimilar in style so his input is likely to yield positive results regardless of whether he returns or not.

As with anything involving Stoner it's denied before it's confirmed, one thing is certain though, it isn't happening in V8 Supercars, as if it ever would, and, he has an open opportunity to return to his old job.

I've spread nothing bud. I stated an ERA. Who'd not swap Stoners results in that ERA for theirs? (apart from you). Fucking amateur.

Regarding 'back to back' titles. I don't remember doing somersaults in '89. It was just another title for Eddie. You and yours make a big deal about 'back to back'. No-one else does for some reason.

What the hell are you babbling at now?
I was not having a snipe at anyone but merely stating  facts.
The Honda at the start of the year before Casey came along was a right dog and Pedrosa did a hell of lot to improve the bike that year.
That is a fact and my post was nothing to do with slating a rider but praising one that is very underated.
Sadly your warped mind as usual perceives it the wrong way....
