Cal Crutchlow signs for Ducati

Cal Crutchlow has taken a massive career gamble by accepting the tough challenge of transforming Ducati’s flagging fortunes in MotoGP next season. The British rider rejected an improved pay deal to stay with the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 squad and will be reunited with former teammate Andrea Dovizioso on a factory Desmosedici in 2014. The former World Supersport champion had until last...

Shot himself in the arse

Not the smartest move . Just thinking of the money. Should've stayed at Yamaha for next year on a 1 year deal. That would've put him in the frame for any one of 5 really good rides with Suzuki Honda & Yamaha .. Now he's stuck on a shit bike that's been a career breaker . Stupid stupid move

Ah Noddy, the exact same cry we had last year when Dovi jumped on it when we realised that actually Rossi was pretty quick on a turd that changed every week..  For those who don't remember Dovi he beat Cal convincingly last year . Yet this year most new fans have still not heard of him.. Enjoy your testamonial and retirement Cal....Maybe next season will be the one where ducati turn it around...nah.... Does make you wonder whether the bs tyre was the better tyre pre- 2007 also, as the duke was pretty compettive then also..

The Honda is the best bike on the grid, so LCR was the best option, but sadly for Cal, Bradl junior got his finger out come contract time. The contract time second a lap!

I am fully behind him leaving Yamaha, - they keep talking about how unusual it is for them to be offering him this and that but not as usual as the position he finds himself in kicking factory buts every weekend on a satelite bike and not making the jump. When Yamaha say they can't break the bank for Cal with two well paid factory riders already onbaord, they were also budgeting for the big necessary pay off for Bradley, had Cal stayed with Tech3.

If Cal had stopped at yammy next year he'd have got the Tech3 part bin special and Pol would have the factory equipment to finish off Cals career.

Dovi just another Italian to be beaten into submission by the Ducati, Cal maybe the first Brit but lets hope 'IF' he goes down he goes down trying

Look at it

from Crutchlow's perspective -  He's riding his socks off and getting top results for TechTrois but he's never going to be world champion with them.  Yamaha don't want him in their factory team so again no chance of world championship.   No other factory offer on the table apart from Ducati no chance of being world champion any time soon with Ducati.   So whatever he does and whoever he signs for same result.   So world championship not a real possibility - however Ducati offer a shed load of money to ride his socks off. - what would you do ?

Good luck Cal... unfortunately I think you're going to need it... but at least you're being paid top dollar now.

Smart move

For a mutitude of reasons. #1. Make hay while the sun shines. #2, The Yellow Man ain't going to vacate that M1 factory seat voluntarily. #3,Suck it and see, maybe it gells aka 2007.

All apologies WillieWB. Sadly or gladly,Stoner/GP/Ducati are synonomous with the game as an historic reference....like Foggy back then.

Deja Vu. Stoner vs Capirossi 2007 on equal kit, 2014. Now that would be the ideal scenario within that team. To be honest though, the pair of them against the Repsol boys and singleton Yamaha ace are not likely to turn the world of MGP on its head next year, but its going to be fun seeing Dovi and Cal battling yet again on equal kit.

Hell, they both have to see out the rest of 2013!
