Casey Stoner tests 2014 factory Honda but no wild card plans

Casey Stoner was able to give HRC technical staff vital information on development of its 2014 factory RC213V MotoGP prototype at the Twin Ring Motegi track in Japan today. But the Aussie ruled out any plans to race as a wild card later this season after it was rumoured he would make a sensational return to racing in his home race...

Back to HRC and Stoner

Win win scenario sublime. HRC get their developements thoroughly thrashed and Stoner gets to stay at the thick and sharp end of prototype GP technology while riding without all the excess baggage that comes with racing a season. The travelling, the media, the promo's,the politicking and sundry necessary bs.

All the best for them and their future endeavours.

I agree bootlegger

He just likes to race.  Take all that other shite away and Stoner would still be in the series.  MM would likely be giving him fits, looking for a way around.  The 2 are so similar in style but Casey has the experience over MM.

That's it in a nutshell Bootlegger

Just that a few don't get it.

Same old faces popping up on a Stoner thread and having the usual pop and moan. All about a man they wish would piss off to oblivion so they never had to read a single word about him again

Like I said on the other thread Saturn - yes, funny ironic.

And I see that as someone who always maintains a stance of no prejudice against any rider, you were the first into this topic with an unsolicited, albeit meaningless, belittling comment

I said he's 'my' rider ?

Must have missed that.

Hard to understand for some I know, but maybe I just enjoy watching many forms of motorsport without the need for an idol to follow.

"Nostro's not bitter"......?

...do you read your comments before you hit submit? Hahaha what am I saying, of course you do! over and over again no doubt while blowing kisses to your own reflection in the mirror.

I don't think anything could demonstrate your obvious bitterness more than your last post.

Fukushima spewing radio-active waste again. Let's hope the blokes involved curb it quick. On another topic re HRC/Stoner. There exists a way to walk out of any contract with your head held high and amicably.

No matter the angst of the moment, don't burn your bridges. Stoner never burned bridges with Ducati nor HRC. Phillip Morris/D'ell Torchio burned their bridges with Stoner/Preziosi/Suppo/Tardozzi within the context of the Rossi quest for adventure and not the other way around.

Now. I dearly did wish to stay focused on Stoner/HRC testing for 2013 and beyond but inevitably the most popular face of MGP raises his spectre within the comments.

The fact is that Rossi left HRC with his head held high as a performer for them back then but not amicably.

Rider 80%,horse ...?

Ditto Yamaha. Ditto Ducati. His presence at YM1 factory current is popularity  based within MGP, well fed by Dorna sports.

In all fairness to Rossi/Dorna and TV viewership he remains the big drawcard for the sport. The face of MGP current for all the wrong reasons.

His presence is like global big banking. Benefits no one in the final analysis. I rob a bank and get caught ,they lock me up. The bank robs me day in and day out and the government pays the banks' CEO's bonuses.

Get it? Current state of MGP and probably the way Stoner saw it 18 months back.  Testing for HRC great for him and HRC.

As Ducatista, I'd love to see him test for Ducati aswell. No contracts with either party and now that afforementioned influences within Ducati are outside of Philip Morris' spiderweb, why not?

I guess that won't happen, but it would be great to peruse Stoner's analysis as a rider comparing 1000cc L4 alloy beam HRC Pneumatic vs 1000cc L4 alloy beam Ducati Desmo. Cheers.

There was no prejudice or belittling comment in my first post Bulto I merely posed a question for discussion.

The prejudicial and belittling comments came from Nostro's reply.  (read both again)

That aside, the mighty HRC seem happy that he accepted their invitation for some reason.
