I've witnessed the pair of them with each end of a cat in their mouths.  Nothing soft about them at that point.

This morning, Ed spotted the neighbour's cat as it picked the wrong bit of fence to escape through.  It has felt their teeth before, but escaped. Two snaps from Paddy and it was left dead in the garden.  Not a sound, it was over so quick.

All cats and rabbits have been disposed of in the septic tank.  (Where else do you dispose of bodies?)

I find the organisms in the septic tank break down the bodies better than those under the patio .

Thankfully, they haven't yet figured out how to catch the red squirrel.
