I got my full license 26 years ago and had a CB50J and then a Suzuki GSX250. My bike career ended the first time during College when my bank refused an overdraft so I had to sell the GSX250 fast... I use a bike for commuting (58 miles each way) and accumulate nearly 18000 miles a year so petrol consumption, range & servicing is important to me. My first bike for 23 years was a Honda NT650V Deauville which after 3000 miles got replaced by an ER6F. After 2 years and 32000 miles I replaced it with a Ninja 250R which lasted a year and 14K. After an initial dodgy relationship with the 250R I did get into thrashing the little bike around but after my dealer went bankrupt it was only a matter of time before I had to replace it. I replaced it with a Black Deauville which lasted 9 months (15000 miles) but it cost a fortune in tyres and servicing. I now have a bright Orange BMW F800S which has lasted 16000 miles so far. It isn't ideal - it is a bit cold in the winter and wet when it rains but I like it a lot...
