American rider Ben Spies claimed victory in race 1 at Misano for the Yamaha WSB team.      It was Brit and Sterilgarda rider Shane Byrne that claimed second place onboard his Ducati 1098R, leaving Michel Fabrizio to take 3rd for the Ducati Xerox team. Yamaha rider Ben Spies took the win in the second World Superbike race at the Autodromo Nazionale in Italy. British rider Cal Crutchlow won the World Supersport race at Monza, Italy onboard a Yamaha YZF-R6.    Crutchlow was fastest in the supersport qualifying session with a 1'49.706 lap. Italian Ducati Xerox rider Michel Fabrizio claimed victory in World Superbike race 1 after a massive crash led to the race being red flagged.
