Gary Pinchin, 13 August 2010 16:00

Keith Amor won yesterday’s six-lap Dundrod 150 Superbike race riding his superstock BMW with a fastest lap of 132.005mph. Amor’s task was eased after Ian Hutchinson’s Padgetts Honda engine expired on the third lap when the pair of them were running nose to tail on track. Guy Martin came out on top after a thrilling four-way battle for second place, ...

Hutchinson's TT treble

Gary Pinchin, 08 June 2010 15:53

Ian Hutchinson made it a TT treble when he won today’s Superstock TT race to add to the Supersport race he won this morning and the Superbike TT he took on Saturday. And, just like this morning’s Supersport race, this afternoon’s scrap was an absolute thriller with the Padgetts Honda man having to smash the lap record to beat Ryan ...

TT blog June 5: The conundrum of the 132mph lap

Gary Pinchin, 05 June 2010 10:32

Ian Hutchinson tops practice week with a 130.614mph. John McGuinness does 130.242mph on Wednesday but is robbed of a Friday night run by a curious HM Plant Honda decision to not let him ride because his bike is all set to go and there is nothing new to test. Whatever the real reasons behind that call, apart from these two, ...

TT blog Tuesday June 1: Fast laps despite the damp

Gary Pinchin, 02 June 2010 10:06

Any chance of real blisteringly fast laps were washed out tonight by the rain earlier in the day that left damp patches around the course and robbed the dry sections of the grip that had been building the previous night. With that in mind, Ian Hutchinson’s 128.017mph lap on the Padgetts Honda was even more impressive. He’s certainly set himself ...

Guy Martin, decked out in his old Hydrex Honda leathers, riding John Sims’ Heron Suzuki GS1000R XR69 replica, smashed his own 4.25 mile Billown lap record during the Post Classic Superbike race at the Blackford’s TT Classic Road Races. Martin was an astounding 8.65s seconds faster than his own record set in 2008 but that was his only consolation of ...

Ian Hutchinson set the pace in tonight’s (Monday’s) first timed practice session of the 2010 TT. TT blog: Saturday, May29

Gary Pinchin, 30 May 2010 10:59

What a damp squib today has been. It was raining when the Island gradually awoke this morning and only really brightened up as we left the paddock after the miserable damp and misty newcomers lap had been completed for solos and sidecars. The solos didn’t leave the Grandstand area until 8.00pm so by the time everyone had got back and ...

TT blog: Friday, May28

Gary Pinchin, 29 May 2010 15:12

It’s a long time since I arrived on the Island on a Friday prior to TT practice starting.  In recent years, pressure of work have meant that I’ve just got onto the Island as Thursday practice started and the place was already buzzing. But with no BSB date clash this weekend, it’s been a privilege to arrive early, get settled ...
