Leon Haslam was forced into second place by a triumphant Max Biaggi in the first race at Portimao today. Only 0.2 of a second was between the racers as they crossed the line after a fierce battle that lasted the entire race. Parkalgar Honda rider Eugene Laverty claimed victory in the opening World Supersport race at Phillip Island today. Laverty dominated the race from the start. Yamaha WSB rider Ben Spies took victory in the first World Superbike race at Portimao. Brit Jonathan Rea claimed second for the Hannspree Ten Kate Honda team and Aprilia rider Max Biaggi finished 3rd. Brit Cal Crutchlow placed 2nd in World Supersport qualifying for the Yamaha WSS team.  Crutchlow finished just behind Parkalgar Honda rider Eugene Laverty.
