1 of 1

With Sylvain Guintoli’s dramatic exit from the British Superbike Championship thoughts are already turning to will replace him at the Crescent Worx Suzuki team.

The Frenchman is expected to miss the next four rounds and the team have confirmed a replacement will be in place in time for the next round at Thruxton just five days away.

So, who’s in the frame? The four immediate names that appear to be in the frame are:

Michael Rutter – released from his NW200 Yamaha team last week and has already lined up a Crescent-prepared Suzuki for his TT assault.

Gregorio Lavilla – without a World Superbike ride since the demise of his Pro-Ride Honda team, the Spaniard had a one-off ride for the Crescent team in 2004, taking third and fourth at Thruxton.

Alastair Seeley – currently dominating the National Superstock Championship with three wins from the first three rounds, the last two for the Relentless by TAS Suzuki team. Also won the Superstock race at the recent North West 200.

Michael Laverty – currently riding in selected rounds of the AMA Superbike series for Celtic Racing on board a GSXR1000. Recently stood in for Robbin Harms at the Veidec Honda team in the World Supersport series.

Jack Valentine spoke to MCN and said the decision will not be rushed with a view to speaking to relevant parties on Tuesday.
