BMW for National Superstock?

BMW Motorrad UK plans to run a two-man team in next year’s National Superstock championship but is looking to form a partnership with a well-established outfit in the BSB paddock, rather than run the team themselves.
BMW UK’s Scott Grimsdall said: “We’re definitely keen to go racing in 2010 and the Superstock class would offer ideal entry-level racing for BMW, linking with an established team.”
Grimsdall also told MCN that BMW UK is aiming to field at two-man team and would be keen to place Richard Cooper within that team.
The 26-year-old from Nottingham has strong links with the factory and has been a leading contender in this year’s National Superstock series riding a Co-ordit Yamaha, finishing fifth in the championship and shocked the BSB regulars when he finished fifth at Mallory Park in a one-off superbike outing for the team.
BLOB: BMW Italy has recently confirmed it will field a two-man team on S1000RRs in the 2010 European Superstock Championship.
