Oulton Park BSB: Hill sidelined with shoulder injury

1 of 1

Tommy Hill is out of today’s second BSB round at Oulton Park after crashing in morning warm-up and damaging his shoulder.

Championship leader Hill – who had yesterday set pole position for this afternoons races, was brought down by oil from Loris Baz’ Motorpoint Yamaha after the Frenchman had highsided at Britten’s chicane.

Baz’ R1 split it’s engine cases and dumped petrol as it slid across the track and the marshals had no time to warn the oncoming riders of the mess and Hill went down.

The Swan Yamaha rider went to the circuit medical centre where x-rays showed he had injured his shoulder. He is also thought to have sustained ligament damage.

Team boss Shaun Muir said that Hill is likely to be out of action for three to four weeks, which means he’ll definitely miss Croft on May 15 and will be fighting for fitness to race at Thruxton on May 30.
