Halsall Racing made their debut in the MCE British Superbike Championship this season and following two consecutive point-scoring rounds, they have already signalled their intentions to progress further and ascend to the top by enlisting experienced Jack Valentine to manage the team.
Valentine is renowned for his expertise at both national and international level racing and is a familiar figure in the British paddock having led teams to both Superbike and Supersport title contention in the past with his vivacious attitude. Team owner Martin Halsall now has high expectations that his 30 years of experience will further enhance his team as Valentine joins them from the next round of the season at Brands Hatch on 21 July as Lee Costello aims for further point scoring performances.
Valentine said: “I met with Martin and the team at Snetterton and I was impressed with both the set-up of the squad and the Kawasaki. We can all work together to move the team up the leader board as they have big potential and we saw last weekend at Snetterton that Lee can make big steps forward in one weekend.
For me personally it was nice to be back in the BSB paddock and myself and Martin have already been looking at how we can develop the Superbike project further for the remainder of this season and also in the future.”
Halsall said: “We have big plans for the team and we want to be pushing the boundaries and moving forward. Already we have achieved the first goal which was to score championship points, but now we need to be looking at the next step and that is a top ten finish. We are an ambitious team and one that is also determined to deliver because I am dedicated to making the dream of becoming a serious contender in BSB a reality.”
MCE BSB Series Director Stuart Higgs was equally enthused at Valentine’s return: “Seeing Jack walk into my office at Snetterton with the rule book in his hand did fill me with trepidation as usual, but it’s great to have him back in the paddock and already his expertise has helped to advance the team to their best results so far.”
