FB Corse unveils MotoGP contender

The FB Corse squad unveiled its new three-cylinder MotoGP machine in Italy yesterday (Thursday).

But future plans for the team remain shrouded in mystery with the new bike still to make its track debut and details sketchy about whether it will actual compete in the 2010 MotoGP world championship as intended.

Australian rider Garry McCoy showed off the new FB01, which has been designed and built by Italian-based Oral Engineering.

FB Corse management insist dyno testing of the triple, which was originally built as a concept for BMW, is on-going but the team doesn’t have an official place on the 2010 MotoGP grid.

FB Corse signed three-times MotoGP winner McCoy after protracted talks with American John Hopkins collapsed when he opted to sign a Suzuki GSX-R1000 deal in the AMA Superbikes series.

McCoy is expected to be on track by the end of this month.
