Valentino Rossi has second operation on broken leg

Valentino Rossi underwent a second operation on his broken right leg yesterday (Monday).
The nine-times world champion had a short operation to close the wound after the Italian suffered a compound break of his shinbone (tibia) in a horrific practice crash in Mugello last Saturday.
Dr. Roberto Buzzi, head of Trauma at the CTO Careggi (Centro Traumatologico Ortopedico) in Florence, Italy, said: “Valentino underwent another small operation to close the wound, which is looking good. We closed it with 15 stitches and our overall medical judgement is positive.
"We used a short general anesthetic and when he woke up he was in good shape. The healing process of the injury is going well and as expected in Valentino's condition."
Rossi’s injury – the worst in his long and illustrious career – will keep him out of action for between two and three months and killed off his hopes of winning a third successive MotoGP crown for the Fiat Yamaha squad.
