Black Bear in XR1200 Trophy

Black Bear Harley-Davidson in Newmarket  has put the finishing touches to the bike they will run for 38-year old Warren Scott in the Harley-Davidson XR1200 Trophy.

The series features at selected BSB rounds this year and Scott said: “The big v-twin really suits my style of riding, this is going to be very competitive, but I feel with the experience of one make series I have and the enthusiasm from Black Bear I feel we are well placed for a good result”

The XR1200 Trophy race series kicks off on May 1-3 at Oulton Park and is officially supported by Harley-Davidson UK and Ireland.

It is designed to attract a varied mix of Clubman, Superbike and Superstock contenders as well as younger stars looking to develop racing skills.

Newmarket-based Black Bear Harley-Davidson is so far one of 20 entrants into the series, which includes several other authorised Harley-Davidson dealerships as well as individual competitors.

Black Bear owner Nigel Darken said “We can’t wait to take the XR1200 out on track. With a long racing heritage, I’m sure it is really going to surprise a lot of people.”
