Factory Suzuki rider Alvaro Bautista has passed a medical examination this morning giving him the all-clear to ride in this weekend’s Estoril MotoGP race.

The Spaniard will be back on board his factory Suzuki GSV-R machine less than six weeks after he broke his left femur in a practice crash ahead of the season’s opening race in Qatar last month.

Bautista underwent medical checks in the Estoril circuit medical centre earlier today and doctors were satisfied that his left leg was strong enough to cope with the demands of riding in the third round of the 2011 MotoGP world championship.

Bautista has been training hard and spending time in a hyperbaric chamber to ensure he was fit for the Estoril race after he was forced to miss his home race in Jerez earlier this month.

Test and development rider Nobuatsu Aoki is on standby in Estoril in case Bautista is unable to ride throughout the entire weekend.
