Scott Redding thrilled with Kalex race simulation

Scott Redding might have topped the Moto2 timesheets in Jerez last week but the highly-rated British teenager was also thrilled with a final day race simulation on the new Kalex chassis.
A best lap of 1.42.9 secured the Marc VDS Racing rider top spot at the end of the three-day test.
But it wasn’t his pace for one fast lap though that boosted Redding’s confidence as much as his consistency over a full race run on the final afternoon of the test.
The 18-year-old was able to lap comfortably in the low 1.43 bracket for the long run and he told MCN: “I was really happy with the race simulation. The bike was very consistent and I finished the race run with the same time that I started, so that’s the consistency I’ve been missing.
"The race in Jerez is 26 laps but I ended up doing 28 because one of my mechanics messed up, but I forgive him for that because I was still running a good pace. Every lap was in the 43s and I only did one 44 on the 27th lap because I missed a gear.”
