Colin Edwards to test FTR-Honda in Mugello

Colin Edwards will test the FTR-Honda MotoGP machine during a one-day test session at the Mugello circuit in Italy on Monday.
Although the experienced American’s 12th place finish equalled his best result on the Suter-BMW at Germany’s Sachsenring last Sunday, the 38-year-old is still unsure whether he will finish the 2012 campaign on S1000RR-powered CRT project.
His Forward Racing squad has grown increasingly frustrated at disappointing results this season, with the Suter-BMW struggling to be competitive against rival CRT machinery like Aprilia's ART machine.
Much of the issue has been with an inconsistent and unreliable Bosch electronics system though the double World Superbike champion is not sure if his Forward Racing squad will ditch the Suter-BMW ahead of his back-to-back home races in Laguna Seca and Indianapolis.
Edwards is due to test a new Suter chassis on Monday and also some electronics upgrades too, but it might be too late to convince him to continue on the Suter-BMW, which he had branded a fire-breathing dragon.
Edwards met FTR bosses during last weekend's German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring and he told MCN: “I was really impressed with those guys and hopefully I will get to do a few laps on that bike. I am curious to see what it is like.
"There are a few updates to try on the Suter-BMW so beyond next week’s test I am not sure what is going to happen. That will be up to the team.”
