Mugello MotoGP: Vinales takes hard fought Moto3 victory

FTR Honda rider Maverick Vinales took his fourth Moto3 victory of the season at Mugello after a hard race long battle.

Despite running wide in the latter half of the final lap, Vinales managed to hold on to his lead ahead of Italian Romano Fenati to tkae victory by just two hundredths of a second. KTM rider Sandro Cortese finished third.

Brit Danny Kent had a good race with the leading group, but was unable to keep up with the podium finishers, despite leading at the end of lap 12. Kent finished fifth behind Italian Niccolo Antonelli.

Spanish rider Luis Salom, third in the championship before today’s race, crashed after only three laps. Brit Danny Kent finished 20th onboard his Mahindra machine.
