Honda will roll out a revamped version of its 2014 factory RC213V prototype at a forthcoming test in Misano.

The Japanese factory gave next year’s V4 contender its public debut at a rain-hit test at the Motorland Aragon test in Spain back in June.

Had it been a big improvement then the new bike could have been made available for Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez in the second half of the 2013 campaign.

Both though preferred to remain on this year’s model, but HRC boss Shuhei Nakamoto confirmed to MCN recently that an updated version of the 2014 bike will be ready to test immediately after the Misano round in mid-September.

“The next step will be for the Misano test. It will be a completely different bike, “said Nakamoto.

The new bike tested in Aragon was ‘completely brand new’, according to project leader Takeo Yokoyama.

It featured a new engine configured to run 20 litres for the new fuel tank capacity that will be introduced next season and a revised frame.

Double MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner will help HRC with development of next year’s factory bike and he completed laps on the 2014 RC213V during a return to two wheels at a test in Japan earlier this week.
