Maverick Vinales took full advantage of dry conditions on the second day of Moto3 testing in Jerez to top the timesheets ahead of Spanish rivals Alex Rins and Luis Salom.

Vinales, who dominated last week’s opening test at the Ricardo Tormo track in Valencia, set the best time of 1.46.805 to finish just 0.006s clear of Rins in a KTM clean sweep of the top three.

Salom was 0.304s off the pace of Vinales with German Jonas Folger the only other rider to lap within a second of the fastest pace.

After topping yesterday’s timesheets on a wet track, British rider Danny Webb kept himself in the top 10 with a best lap of 1.48.476. That put him in ninth place and he was only 0.3s off the top six.

Fellow Briton John McPhee finished today’s action down in 29th with a best lap of 1.50.101.
