Danny Webb seventh as final 2013 preparations start in Jerez

Danny Webb enjoyed a positive start to the final Moto3 test of the 2013 pre-season in Jerez today when the British rider set the seventh fastest time.

Riding the Ambrogio Racing Suter-Honda machine, Webb set a best time of 1.47.959 to finish just 0.019s outside of the top six on an opening day led by German Jonas Folger.

Folger set the quickest time of 1.47.149 on his Kalex KTM to finish 0.810s clear of Webb and 0.252s clear of Alex Rins in second position.

The top three was completed by pre-season title favourite Maverick Vinales, who set a personal best of 1.47.457 to finish 0.308s behind Folger.

Luis Salom, Webb’s South African teammate Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira completed the top six.

British rider John McPhee was able to comfortably lap inside the top 20 and a time of 1.49.094 put him in 17th position, which was just less than two seconds off the fastest pace.
