Marc Marquez will start tomrrow's race from pole position as he looks to make history by becoming the youngest ever MotoGP world champion.

The Repsol Honda rider set a lap record with a best time of 1'20.237 to edge out rival Jorge Lorenzo.

Lorenzo looked certain to start from pole as the factory Yamaha rider set a lap record on his first flying lap. Lorenzo though was unhappy with his bike and went out on the second bike, but was unable to improve his position.

Dani Pedrosa completes the front row in third.

Valentino Rossi will head the second row for his last race with crew chief Jerry Burgess ahead of team-mates Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith, both of whom were in the top three earlier in the session.
